Consumer Protection Act 2075

Your Consumer Rights

As a buyer on Vesh Nepal, you are protected by Nepal's Consumer Protection Act 2075 (B.S.). This page summarises your key rights as a consumer in an online marketplace transaction.

Fundamental Consumer Rights (CPA 2075, Section 4)

Right to Safety

You have the right to be protected from goods that are hazardous to your health, life, or property. Vesh Nepal prohibits listings of unsafe or banned items.

Right to Information

You have the right to receive accurate and complete information about goods — including condition, origin, price, and any defects — before purchasing.

Right to Choice

You have the right to choose from a variety of goods at competitive prices. No seller may use coercive or deceptive tactics to pressure a purchase.

Right to be Heard

You have the right to have your complaint heard and addressed. Vesh Nepal must acknowledge your grievance within 2 business days.

Right to Redressal

You have the right to seek a remedy — refund, return, or replacement — where goods are materially different from their description.

Right to Consumer Education

You have the right to be educated about your consumer rights. This page and our Help Center exist to fulfil this obligation.

Your Right to Return (CPA 2075, Section 18)

Under Section 18 of the Consumer Protection Act 2075, you are entitled to return a product and receive a refund or replacement if:

  • The item is significantly different from its listing description
  • The item is defective or damaged on arrival
  • The item is counterfeit or misrepresented as a genuine brand
  • The seller failed to disclose known material defects

Return requests must be raised within 7 days of receiving the item. See our Return & Refund Policy for the full process.

Protection Against Unfair Trade Practices (CPA 2075, Section 13)

The following practices are illegal under Nepali consumer protection law and are prohibited on Vesh Nepal:
  • False advertising — claiming fake brand, false condition, or misleading photos
  • Bait-and-switch — listing one item and delivering another
  • Price manipulation — charging more than the agreed price after payment
  • Withholding material information about defects
  • Threatening or harassing buyers who request returns
